How do you want 2008 to be different from 2007? What will you change or do differently?
Submitted by Becca-Pink.
I want 2008 to end happier than 2007 did, sorta. Don't get me wrong, I am glad to have finally rung in the new year amongst friends. Usually I'm in bed, waiting for it to be over. But overall, I was really depressed at New Years.
I want to be happy for more of 2008 than I was in 2007. Last year I was pretty miserable from January through May. Then June through October I was doing okay. Then November and December were really great, except for the last week of December. Scale of 1-10, here's how I'd rank the months of the year:
Jan - 2
Feb - 2
March -2
April - 3
May - 5
June - 6
July - 7
August - 7.5
September - 8
October - 8
November - 10
December - 9.5
So I guess, if we do the average, the year turned out to be a 5.8 . . . so a little better than worse, which I'd agree with since the last half of the year was awesome.
I'd love for it to be more than a 5.8, obviously.
I need to have a different job at some point in 2008. That's a definite as well.
Other than that, I'm going to continue to enjoy my time with my friends, continue to work as hard as I can at work and school, and continue to take everything one day at a time

Radiohead release their seventh studio album today and it's only available online and you set your own price. Will you buy the album? Do you buy the idea?
I do plan on buying the album. The good thing for me is that I'm not a huge radiohead fan at all. In fact, I never really got into them. But this way I can give them a shot without spending too much on it. I'm gonna pay 5 dollars.
I like the idea, as long as the band realized that they may not make a lot of money. But they're not in it for the money, honestly. Radiohead could sell most of their albums at 1 dollar and still be fine.

Do you own all the albums of any particular musical artist or group? Who?
Submitted by dutterman.
Hehe, fun question. There are many, actually.
- Dave Matthews Band: First and foremost, I have so much dmb material between CDs and my computer. A quick search in iTunes shows that I have 28.49 GB of dmb on here. That jumps to 36.98 if I include Dave solo, Dave and Tim, and Dave & Friends. That includes every album, live release, and many, many live shows and tracks. Good times :-)
- The Beatles: Not all of them are on my computer, but I do own all of the Beatles albums (including the Anthologies) on actual CD.
- Ben Harper: I dig some of his music, so I went ahead and got everything he has out. I even got his newest album on Ruckus today. I just need to figure out how to strip the drm so I can listen in iTunes and not in the stupid Ruckus player. But hey, it's free, so I can't complain.
- Billy Joel: Back in 1998 they re-released all of his albums, so I got them all. I also have his greatest hits and his box set (My Lives)
- Bright Eyes: A recent edition to my music, I've really gotten into their sound. It is very excellent, indeed.
- Coldplay: Save the "You know how I know you're gay" jokes! Yeah, I like Coldplay. And they have only 3 albums out, so it's easy to have all of them.
- Colin Hay: Yes, I love his music. And getting to meet him was one of the coolest things in my life. Like, ever.
- The Decemberists: Not bad, although it was hard to get into it. Not a huge fan, but I don't dislike them.
- Elliot Smith: Yeah, when I'm down, his music is brilliant.
- Haley Bonar: I love her voice.
- Jack Johnson: Fun sounding songs, great voice, good lyrics. All in all, a good choice.
- Plain White T's: Not really that into them, except for Hey There, Delilah. Maybe their music will grow on me.
- The Shins: Absolutely amazing. I love them. It took a LONG time to get into them because my heart would drop when I'd hear their music, thinking about what I used to have. But I'm okay now, so they're awesome :)
- Weezer: I'm actually just starting to REALLY get into them. I have a feeling that after the dmb show is over next week, I'll be posting a lot about Weezer.
So yeah, remember, I love music :-)

What decision changed the course of your life?
Submitted by Ally.
Although the obvious answer for me would be moving to/from South Dakota, I don't think that changed the course of my life. Not nearly as much as what I'm thinking:
Buying my first Dave Matthews Band CD in June of 1998. I honestly feel that everything in my life since then has happened because of that. I wouldn't be the person I am if I didn't listen to DMB. I wouldn't have the same beliefs and feelings if it wasn't for their music. I would never have been at dmbcommunity in 2001-2002. Therefore would have never met Rocio. I probably wouldn't be friends with James. So my life would be very, very different if I hadn't listened to dmb.
And I am very, very glad that my life is how it is. So thank God I decided to buy that CD!

How old were you when you had your very first boyfriend/girlfriend? Do you still know them now?
Submitted by KIM.
I was 20 when I had my very first girlfriend. I do still know her, although we don't talk very much anymore. For now, that's the only way.

Where do you consider home? Is it the place you grew up; the place you're currently living? Why is it home?
Submitted by uncagedbird.
Back in December, when I first moved back here, I didn't consider this home. In my phone, I still hade it as "Mom and Dad". I honestly felt like I didn't have a home at all.
Now, after some time, I'm starting to consider this home again. This is where my family is. This is where my job is, my friends are, my life is. So, this is home.
For now.

Which friend or acquaintance most influenced your taste in music?
Submitted by Rev Stan.
There are two, really. First, my friend Dan. I started working with Dan back when we both started at Baskin Robbins, back in the summer of 1998. Aside from BNL, Guster, and a few other bands that Dan got me to enjoy, he introduced me to the band that would affect my life in uncountable ways. He got me into Dave Matthews Band. He told me which CDs to buy. He made me tapes of shows and got me into trading and their live stuff. He got me into the online message boards, which is how met Rocio. So, really, Dan made my life what it is with his musical help. Seriously.
Then there's Rocio. Although dmb is still number one for me, and had been for ten years . . . Rocio opened my eyes to a LOT of music. Andrew Bird, Weezer, Bright Eyes, The Shins, and many other bands that I may have heard about, Rocio had me listening to them years ago. And I am thankful for that. I mean, yeah, check out my last.fm and you'll see that I still mostly listen to dmb, but I do vary my listening. Right now, for example, I am listening to Bright Eyes.
So, thanks to Dan and Rocio. You both helped make music one of the most important parts of my life!

You have $100 to spend online in the next hour. How are you going to spend it?
I'd probably buy something from dmb's website.
