QotD: Taking A Leap

Comments

Yep, I took one moving here. I lived in Jacksonville, Florida for 32 years. I had been tossing around the idea of moving away for a few years. Finally, the circumstances were right -- financially I was where I needed to be, and personally I was fed up with my job and Jacksonville. I turned in my notice, and within a few weeks, drove a big truck, towing my car, by myself, from Florida to Indiana. I didn't have a job, but felt confident that I would be able to find one in Chicago with no trouble. I was lucky in that my sister and her family live nearby. But as for friends and a social life, I haven't quite acquired those. So, yep, I know what you mean.
